As a trading company specializing in cosmetic ingredients, Matsumoto Trading has a long history of supplying numerous customers with cosmetic ingredients.
\nTaking advantage of the track record and experience we have built over more than 360 years of operation, we propose formulations and ingredients and help develop cosmetics, in a way tailored to market trends and prevailing needs. Most recently,\u00a0we have entered the safety and efficacy testing services and food and healthcare business and are pursuing initiatives such as establishing overseas bases in Asia and building an international logistics system, in addition to selling, importing, and exporting cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients. <\/p>\n

Matsumoto Trading was founded in 1663 in Nihonbashi, Edo as a pharmaceutical products wholesaler named Iwashiya Matsumoto Ihei. For more than 360 years since then, we have continued to evolve, moving into new businesses and evolving our operations in step with changes in the market environment and customer demand. We provide unique added value by leveraging the experience, track record, and networks we have developed through our many years of history. <\/p>\n

On-the-premises labs<\/h3>\n

At our on-site laboratories (Open Lab) at four locations in Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, and\u00a0Ho Chi Minh, we support customers’ cosmetics development\u00a0with state-of-the-art\u00a0equipment for trial studies, including\u00a0equipment for trial production of ingredients,\u00a0physical measuring instruments, and assessment instruments. Developing original formulations that harness the properties of ingredients,\u00a0testing to assess formulation efficacy, and product development are all possible at each lab. We also hold formulation seminars. These seminars help customers train their young\u00a0formulation engineers and can be used as opportunities for researchers to interact.<\/p>\n

Global<\/h3>\n

We are driving overseas sales of cosmetic ingredients all over Asia including China. In response to the increase in business transactions among multiple countries, we have established overseas bases in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia to cater promptly to domestic and overseas needs.\u00a0 We are also working to build a global logistics system. At the same time, we develop, export, and import new ingredients in Japan and other countries, propose ingredients\u00a0in accordance with the needs in each country, and pursue other initiatives. We also exhibit at trade fairs on cosmetic ingredients \u00a0held in Southeast Asia, China, and other regions, thus building a global network. <\/p>\n
